On February 15th 2025, artist Koen Vanmechelen’s monumental sculpture, Cosmogolem, a global symbol of hope, freedom, and creativity, will be officially inaugurated at ViaVia Entebbe in Uganda. This landmark event, attended by Vanmechelen and his wife Chido Govera, founder of the Future of Hope Foundation, the founders of ViaVia Entebbe, and members of the ViaVia World community, underscores the transformative power of art in fostering unity, resilience, and innovation. In the day leading up to the inauguration on February 14, ViaVia Entebbe hosts “Serious Business” , bringing together thought leaders and changemakers for an inspiring day of talks, discussions, and networking on how we can generate impact through art and entrepreneurship. Over these two days, ViaVia Entebbe will become a vibrant hub celebrating the intersection of art, collaboration, and forward-thinking innovation.
Cosmogolem in Entebbe
On 15th February 2025, Cosmogolem; the monumental sculpture symbolizing hope, freedom, and creativity, is unveiled at ViaVia Entebbe. Created by Koen Vanmechelen, and realized together with the local community, this monumental artwork serves as a global symbol of community strength and resilience, empowering individuals to unlock their potential.
This Cosmogolem in Uganda Is the first Cosmogolem made in bamboo. Together with the Cosmogolem that was inaugurated at the Musanze Youth Center in Rwanda in 2023, it forms a new milestone for East Africa, showcasing the region’s connection to Vanmechelen’s worldwide initiative of art as a unifying force.
Cosmogolem will remain permanently at ViaVia Entebbe as a beacon of hope, inviting children and adults alike to dream big, embrace creativity, and connect with their communities.
ViaVia Event: “Serious Business – From Purpose to Profit”
On 14th February ViaVia Entebbe organises an inspirational event on social entrepreneurship and sustainable business practices. Hosted by the ViaVia Tourism Academy, this exclusive gathering will feature keynotes, discussions, and interactive workshops led by international experts and ViaVia Entebbe founders.
