Koen Vanmechelen invites young people to send their own Cosmopolitan Fossil to the future — Fossiles for the Future, LABIOMISTA x EducaThor X

Koen Vanmechelens' culture parc LABIOMISTA and EducaThor join forces for 'Dag van de Wetenschap/ Science Day' bringing together art, culture, nature and technology.

Join the workshop ‘time capsules for the future’ and get inspired by Koen Vanmechelen's Cosmopolitan Fossil. This impressive artwork, which you can find on T2 Campus in Genk (BE), shows a child embracing a mythical animal. The sculpture tells about our relationship with nature. How we seek to bond with the other species we share our planet with. The artist believes in loving others, which is Koen's message from the past and the present for the future.

Send your own Cosmopolitan Fossil into the future

On Dag van de Wetenschap / Science Day, we invite you to discover, improvise and create! Collect the elements you think are important from the world of humans and animals, culture, nature, technology and science. Draw your own Cosmopolitan Fossil. Together, we will build a rocket and send these stories into the future. Koen Vanmechelen warmly invites all young people to take part and let their voice be heard in the future.
